If you’re a family that loves going on cross-country quests, the Palomino Puma is an RV you’ll want to get for your next off-road adventure. They’re easy to tow, ruggedly built, and designed to make your vacation carefree.
History
Mr. Vern Landey, the founder of Vanguard Industries, began constructing Palomino Camping trailers in 1968. In the beginning, his dream was simple – design and create affordable and high-quality units.
He started his journey with the creation of convenient and lightweight floorplans at a small building located in Savage, Minnesota. Years later, the demand for his products grew, which led him to relocate manufacturing to Elkhart, Indiana.
Palomino Puma trailers began to roll out in 1972, and as they say, the rest is history.

Pros and Cons of the Palomino Puma
Pros
Buying an RV is not an easy decision. You have to go for a brand that you know is reliable, trustworthy, and resilient. Palomino Puma is one of those brands that has been tried and tested, and with over fifty years in experience, there must be something about it.
Here are two reasons to consider buying these trailers.
High-Quality Interiors
The Palomino campers have some of the best amenities in the market. Every unit comes with LED lighting, which helps in increasing its efficiency. Complementary backsplashes and unique cabinetry are other features that you can expect.
Every kitchen has an outfitted stainless sink and high-output ranges. As you head to the bedroom, you can expect to rest your head in a high-density foam mattress that will leave you feeling refreshed after a whole day spent traveling.
Solid Craftsmanship
The Palomino Puma brand is renowned for its quality craftsmanship. Every aspect of these campers, from the vacuum-sealed exteriors to the fiberglass front caps and the fully-welded aluminum superstructure, speak of class and quality.
They all speak of style and durability. You may also be interested to learn that they come backed with a twelve-year manufacturing warranty and have EPDM rubber roofing. That’s a guarantee that they have been built to last.
Cons
All the models discussed above have unique features, but they also have some drawbacks, as with everything else in life. The floorplans are some of their most outstanding features, but some of the downsides include:
- Poor electrical wiring which can prove fatal if one isn’t careful
- Leaks from the bathroom and kitchen sinks
- Poor finishing with regards to the doorknobs handles and the roof

The Bottom Line
The Palomino Puma line of campers is one of the best in the market today. Although they have their shortfalls, you can trust them to get where you need to go. The interior design and accompanying convenient features should help compensate for its deficits.
